It’s unnatural to refer to a relation by their full name to Siri. You can fix that by setting a contact relation.

The next time you want to refer to a relation by their related name like wife, or father, you can let Siri learn the relationship or set it yourself.

M: “Hey Siri, text my brother.”

S: “I don’t see a brother in your Contacts. What is your brother’s first and last name?”

M: “Jeremy Crunchy”

S: “OK, want me to remember that Jeremy Crunchy is your brother?”

M: “Yes”

S: “OK, I’ll remember that Jeremy Crunchy is your brother.”

You can also define a relation on your Contact card.

Open Contacts.

Tap on your card.

Tap Edit.

Scroll down and tap Add Related name.

Choose the relation type.

Tap the “i” icon to select the name from your existing contacts.
